NIKE Air Max LeBron VII

13 08 2009

Meet the new Lebron VII.  LeBron released his new shoes last week in Akron, Ohio.  Here is what LeBron had to say about his shoes “The new LeBron VII takes my signature line to a new level of innovation,” said LeBron James. “As the demands of my game evolve and increase, Nike consistently designs and develops shoes helping drive my on-court success.” Does he need more success on the court?  Talk amongst yourselves.

Now to follow suite from the previous shoes review, we would like to highlight the designer.  These kicks were designed by Nike designer Jason Petrie.  Not only does Jason draw shoes for Nike, but he also collects them.  Nice work Jason.

Buy them if: You have $160.

Forget about them if: You don’t.

Where To Find The Starburys: TBD

2 11 2007

We just received this email from Steve & Berry’s.  Shoesoftheday.com has been overwhelmed with requests to find the best place to purchase the Starbury shoes.  It appears that they only offer them at Steve & Berry’s physical stores.  “Sorry online,  we’re closed!” HELLO!  It’s 2007, don’t you think we would be able to buy these shoes online?  We will keep you posted as soon as we find out where/when they will be available for online purchase.  For now enjoy the response the shoesoftheday.com received.

“Thank you for your interest in the Starbury Collection, the new line of
lifestyle and athletic clothes and sneakers created by NBA star Stephon
Marbury and available only at Steve & Barry’s stores across the country. We
are excited to join Steph in his mission to provide quality apparel at
affordable prices.

Unfortunately, at this time we do not offer online shopping or mail
ordering. However, demand has been so overwhelming for the Starbury
Collection that we are working diligently to bring online shopping to those
customers across the country that do not yet live near a Steve & Barry’s
location. Please check www.steveandbarrys.com and www.starbury.com
periodically for updates.

Our company thrives because of customers like you.  Thank you for taking
the time to write us.  We truly appreciate your business and hope to see
you in one of our stores soon!

With Regards,
Arzan.”

Our intuition tells us that they would thrive even more if they could provide an online store to buy these! Then we thought, shipping may cost more than the shoes themselves…free shipping just won’t work.  So now wait just a second here - the $15 shoes become $30!? Thriving?

LeBron James Shoes Click, Map And Zoom.

1 11 2007

LeBron stepped out on the hardwood in his new shoes yesterday, the new Nike Zoom LeBron 5. Get this; the shoes feature a map of the city of Akron, Ohio on the sole and the inside of the tongue — just in case you need a second reference point. The legend? Well, you will find the legend in the next pair of Air Jordans. You will now need both pairs to effectively navigate the city of Akron. It’s brilliant Nike!

I remember getting “mixed-up-3rd-trailer-on-the-left-far-see-done-gone-too-far” directions in the south, man if only I had a pair of shoes with a map! For the asking retail price I could have a fabulous Rand Mcnally atlas, with more cities than Akron, and roughly 9 pairs of Starburys. They must really be pressing for additional features to move these expensive shoes, which were just conveniently lowered in price. Oh, don’t cry for me Akron-tina, he will be okay - he still has his 7 year, 90 million dollar endorsement.

What’s next the LeBron 6: a laces-view camera with social networking capabilities and a High School diploma? Now you can see his fancy footwork at each game and conveniently share your homework with all your friends.

The shoes hit store shelves November 15 at a cost of $140 a pair. A black and red pair goes on sale December 13. Personally, I would rather have 10 pairs of Starburys than one pair of these. What about a white pair? Sorry, I couldn’t resist. The shoes of the day: Nike Zoom LeBron 5

So in case you are lost in Akron, OH just take off your shoes, they will help you find your way home. Nike, please sell them with a compass too — a moral compass.

Shoes Trick Or Treat: Hoop-It-Ups Under $15?

31 10 2007

Trick: I cant really do any. Here is some candy kid, now off you go. Go and get the mystery grab bag at the neighbors house. By the way, nice costume and nice shoes.

Treat: Spend $15 on basketball shoes that normally retail between $100 to 200. Okay, do a trick because I dont believe you.

Right, I too remember when Magic Johnson, Hakeem Olajuwon and Patrick Ewing all tried to sell cheap shoes to the masses - yeah, that went over like a pregnant pole-vaulter. I bet you, like me are just dying to get you hands on a pair of vintage Olajuwons! Then there is the behemoth Shaquille O’Neal, who sells his shoes at Payless for $25 — and well, they haven’t sold like Hanna Montana tickets either. But for Mr. Stephon Marbury, the two-time All-Star, and fifth-highest-paid player in the league, is successfully selling his “starbury” for a measly $14.98. Yes that is in US dollars, not in Pounds, Pesos, Yen or Canadian. That is because he actually wears his shoes at every game. People are lining up by the thousands to purchase these shoes. Finally, basketball shoes that you wont need a second mortgage for: The shoes of the day the Starbury II.

Starbury shoes for under 15!

Check this diagram out:

Think of how many lives will now be saved — nobody’s going to shoot anybody for basketball shoes that cost $15! You can buy them here.

Thanks Stephon, and well done effectively marketing to the masses.
I may just pass out these shoes next Halloween.

It’s Gotta’ Be The Shoes Of The Day

The Most Successful Shoe Of All-Time! What’s Up Chuck?

6 09 2007

The Chuck Taylor All-Stars were first produced by Converse in 1917, that is 5 years after the sinking of the Titanic for all you DiCaprio lovers. “I’m the King of the World!” Chuck thought the same thing, when he made the canvas and rubber-soled shoes his preferred shoe of choice by putting his stamp of approval on its ankle patch and in the history books as the most successful shoe of all time.

Think of the demographic that has enjoyed these shoes through the years: The basketball players, the skaters, the punk-rockers, sportos, the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, waistoids, dweebies - they all adore them. They think these are righteous shoes.

The perfect shoe for all…no, for fall! They even come in “Harvest Pumpkin.” Go ahead Bettys, I’ll say it with you; “Oh, cute.”

Enjoy the shoes of the day: Converse Men’s, Betty’s and Chillin’s All-Star Ox, I mean Oxen. These Converse are Oxen!

Can you name a pair of shoes that is over 90 years old, that you can still buy new?  Buy them here!

How many pairs have you had? Me? Thanks for asking, I have personally owned 5 pairs, including Pink.

What Color is your Sole?

4 09 2007

On my way out the front door this morning - I noticed a very large black spider between the screen and the door.  After completely soaking it with bug spray, it curled up into a little ball and I kicked it over with my foot to see if indeed it had the horrifying red markings of the black widow.  Yes it was red, yes it was black, and there was no husband around.

These soles have some color underneath.   Color underneath must mean Poison, no wait…more traction.

The shoes of the day; Nike Court Force High Tops with colorful soles!

I bet they are fast, what do you think?
