Trick: I cant really do any. Here is some candy kid, now off you go. Go and get the mystery grab bag at the neighbors house. By the way, nice costume and nice shoes.
Treat: Spend $15 on basketball shoes that normally retail between $100 to 200. Okay, do a trick because I dont believe you.
Right, I too remember when Magic Johnson, Hakeem Olajuwon and Patrick Ewing all tried to sell cheap shoes to the masses - yeah, that went over like a pregnant pole-vaulter. I bet you, like me are just dying to get you hands on a pair of vintage Olajuwons! Then there is the behemoth Shaquille O’Neal, who sells his shoes at Payless for $25 — and well, they haven’t sold like Hanna Montana tickets either. But for Mr. Stephon Marbury, the two-time All-Star, and fifth-highest-paid player in the league, is successfully selling his “starbury” for a measly $14.98. Yes that is in US dollars, not in Pounds, Pesos, Yen or Canadian. That is because he actually wears his shoes at every game. People are lining up by the thousands to purchase these shoes. Finally, basketball shoes that you wont need a second mortgage for: The shoes of the day the Starbury II.

Check this diagram out:

Think of how many lives will now be saved — nobody’s going to shoot anybody for basketball shoes that cost $15! You can buy them here.
Thanks Stephon, and well done effectively marketing to the masses.
I may just pass out these shoes next Halloween.

People in California! Remember tomorrow is the walk with Hanson and TomsShoes in West Hollywood. If you don’t feel like walking, at least go there and make a purchase. TOMS Shoes will be sold at the Tower Records parking lot, and for each pair sold, another pair will be given to children in South Africa as part of the upcoming TOMS Shoe drop set for November. HANSON will also perform a mini-concert at the Tower Records parking lot of songs from their recent album “The Walk.” For each pair of shoes you purchase, TomsShoes will give a pair to a “child in need”. Shoesoftheday.com is not affiliated with them in anyway, but we appreciate their commitment to help those in need. I am going to buy a pair from them, as they look pretty comfortable. If not for yourself, buy some for the “tiny” people in your life.
Blake Mycoskie and TomsShoes, thanks for striving to make life more comfortable for those who need it most!

Right, we like you are more excited about the shoes and the purpose than the concert.
Map and directions are here.

There are so many Running Shoes to choose from — which shoes are right for you? We say if the shoe fits, run in it. Contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to spend a fortune to get a great pair of running shoes. So what should you look for in your next pair of running shoes?
Here is what we recommend:
- Optimal fit. Make sure the shoe fits. With most running shoes you will want to add a 1/2 size for the best fit. Yes, you can buy online and try them on in the comfort of your own home! Almost all online retailers offer free shipping both ways. We recommend shoes.com
- Comfort. Don’t give into the trends. Shoes with springs in the heel or air in the entire foot bed may not offer the reduction in shock that the shoe manufacturer claims. For example, we have tried and tested the Nike Air Max 360. They are very comfortable and offer reasonable stability - until the air goes flat.
- A Strong Arch. This means that the shoe shouldn’t bend in the middle.
- Lateral stability. Good side-to-side shoe support is key for an excellent pair of ‘runners.’
Odds are you can find all four of our above recommendations in a running shoe for between sixty and ninety dollars.
Shoes of the day highly recommended brands:
- Asics
- Saucony
- New Balance
- Keen
- Inov-8
Shoes of the day recommended Brands:
- Adidas
- Merrell
- Salomon
- Nike Running Shoes
- Brooks
Shoes of the day neutral Brands:
- Pearl Izumi
- The North Face
- Reebok
- Avia
Running is more fun with a good pair of shoes and when it isn’t for punishment.

People run for many reasons. I appreciate when people run for a purpose: for health, for your life, for your friends, for your family, for a good cause, for metals or for bragging rights. Thanks to an awesome blog for picking this up — and thanks to the awesome blog’s Betty for snapping this picture to document the insanity.
These lunatics are running for - well, what the Nuns were running for yesterday. I can understand running from or for a lot of things, but a run for beer? One word, oxymoron. It maybe a good idea after all - do you really want to remember and cognitively comprehend that you just ran through the Nation’s Capital in a red dress?
The running shoes of the day - on the feet of freaks.

I wonder if they had a booth at the finish line offering “free smokes for runners ” too?!
Oh, don’t drink don’t smoke? Click here. Enjoy.

I like what Forrest had to say about shoes:
“Momma always says there’s an awful lot you could tell about a person by their shoes. Where they’re going. Where they’ve been. I’ve worn lots of shoes. I bet if I think about it real hard I could remember my first pair of shoes. Momma said they’d take me anywhere. She said they was my magic shoes.” - Forrest Gump.
Here is a picture of the magic shoes of the day: Nike “Air Forrest.”

They can be found on pier39 in San Francisco.
Watch Forrest Run here.
Check this guy trying to out do Forrest: 50 States, 50 days, 50 Marathons?!. Come run with Dean, if you can.
