The Most Successful Shoe Of All-Time! What’s Up Chuck?

The Chuck Taylor All-Stars were first produced by Converse in 1917, that is 5 years after the sinking of the Titanic for all you DiCaprio lovers. “I’m the King of the World!” Chuck thought the same thing, when he made the canvas and rubber-soled shoes his preferred shoe of choice by putting his stamp of approval on its ankle patch and in the history books as the most successful shoe of all time.

Think of the demographic that has enjoyed these shoes through the years: The basketball players, the skaters, the punk-rockers, sportos, the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, waistoids, dweebies – they all adore them. They think these are righteous shoes.

The perfect shoe for all…no, for fall! They even come in “Harvest Pumpkin.” Go ahead Bettys, I’ll say it with you; “Oh, cute.”

Enjoy the shoes of the day: Converse Men’s, Betty’s and Chillin’s All-Star Ox, I mean Oxen. These Converse are Oxen!

my dad told me he loved p.f. flyers, they’re similar, right? remember that scene in the sandlot when benny “the jet” rodriguez decides to pickle the beast and he pulls out a brand new pair of them? yeah, that was cool.

I have only owned two pairs of these. I think my 140 lb. frame liked skateboarding in them but at 180 I need something a little more substantive. My friend took me to a very hip restaurant for lunch today and the waitress has these on in “American flag” flare. Very cool.

  3. I personally had them in black, white and even green. I had the white ones in the 8th grade and being the ingenius individual that I am, I took my mother’s puffy paints and went to town making my chucks rainbow striped. This of course was before the whole ‘rainbow means gay’ era so I was totally in the clear. I lined them with a glow in the dark white after my rainbow masterpeice was complete and was the hit of the school. Heaven bless shoes and all they stand for!

Hey man. There are some things I would like to say to you.

    1. I think your blog is truly awesome. I’ve subscribed to your RSS-feed, and everytime you update your blog – I read the latest post… no matter where I am. It could be on my mobile or on my computer. It doesn’t matter. Your blog simply owns and I love the shoes you give us tips about!

    2. The converse shoes you’re talking about in this post… do you have any idea of where to get shoes like that? I think they look very good, and I’m interested in buying a pair. I’ve been looking all over the net, but I can’t seem to find ’em. How about posting a link to the store where you could actually buy a pair of those next time? Would be much easier for people like me.

Anyway, don’t let me waste your time… thanks for a great blog and keep up the good work!

  11. It’s crazy that an almost 100 year old shoe model is one of the most popular shoes!
